The auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan is an opportunity to experience on a deep silent level the truth of :
Who am I? Who is the Divine? And how do I strengthen the bond of spiritual love between us?
Raksha Bandhan is a reminder that as souls, we are children of the One Supreme Soul, our Spiritual Mother and Father.
During this silent, meditative ceremony, a tilak is applied to the center of the forehead – which is a symbol of awakening one’s awareness of “Soul-Consciousness”…the realization that I am a Soul, a being of divine light energy, and not the physical body. It is also a sign of being victorious. Victory here signifies overpowering our greatest enemies-the VICES of anger, irritation, lust, greed, attachment, and ego.
Tying a “rakhi” is a symbol of a bond of love with the Creator to bring forth purity in our thoughts, words, and deeds. This is how we create a great destiny!
At the present time, fear is one of the biggest diseases spreading in our world. The more souls who stay in soul-consciousness and re-affirm their promise to the Beloved to bring about a world of purity, peace, and prosperity by creating a change in themselves, the sooner we will see the kind of future we have only dreamed of in our ‘wildest, most wonderfull’ dreams.
This is how to truly celebrate Raksha Bandhan!
How can YOU make this practical? What is life trying to tell you right now? What do you need to do for your highest good? What is your next step in living from your highest values? This is what to focus on during the ceremony. Hold a powerful determined thought of what you would like to bring forth in this promise to yourself and to the One Above.
